Dating Safety
We want you to have a fun, respectful, and safe experience. This page explains simple, practical steps you can take to protect yourself—online and in person—and how to get help if something doesn't feel right.
18+ only. You must be at least 18 to use this service. Impersonation, AI-generated faces, deepfakes, and stolen photos are not allowed.
Core Principles
- Protect your privacy. Keep your last name, exact address, workplace, daily routines, and financial details private.
- Move at your pace. Real connections don't require pressure, urgency, or secrecy.
- Verify early. A quick video call or voice note can save you time and risk.
- Keep money out of it. Love doesn't need loans, gift cards, transfers, crypto, or "fees."
- Meet publicly. First meets should be in well-lit, public places—tell a friend and control your own transport.
- Report and block. If someone breaks the rules or feels unsafe, use the in-app tools and let us know.
Before You Match
- Use recent, clear photos of yourself (no minors, no explicit content).
- Avoid photos that expose home location (street signs, building numbers, school badges).
- Create a unique email and strong, unique password; turn on 2-factor authentication if available.
While Chatting
- Keep conversations in-app until you feel comfortable.
- Be careful with links and files; don't download unknown attachments.
- If the vibe shifts to pressure, guilt, love-bombing, or secrecy, slow down or step away.
- Verify identity before getting more personal: ask for a quick video call, or a selfie doing a simple gesture (today's date on paper).
Red Flags & Common Scams
Watch out for patterns like these:
- Romance/investment hybrid: Fast affection + "sure win" trading/crypto/forex.
- Emergency money ask: Illness, customs fees, visas, package releases, stranded travel, "unpaid phone bill," etc.
- Job or modeling "opportunities" that request fees, IDs, or explicit content.
- Sextortion: Someone pressures for intimate photos, then threatens to share them unless paid.
- Catfishing & deepfakes: Too-perfect photos, inconsistent stories, refuses live video.
- Rapid off-platform shift: Insists on moving to another app immediately and becomes pushy.
If any money or gifts are requested—stop, block, and report.
Money & Financial Safety
- Never send cash, gift cards, crypto, or transfers to someone you have not met and trust.
- Don't share bank numbers, OTPs, card photos, or QR codes.
- If you suspect fraud, freeze your cards/accounts and contact your bank right away.
Photos, Video, and Intimate Content
- Assume anything sent online can be saved or shared.
- Don't share explicit images—especially with faces, tattoos, or identifiable backgrounds.
- If pressured for intimate content, say no, block, and report.
-
If sextortion happens:
- Stop responding and do not pay.
- Save evidence (screenshots, handles, links).
- Report to us and your local cybercrime unit.
Planning an In-Person Date
- Meet in public (café, mall, busy restaurant) for the first few meets.
- Daylight or early evening is safer for a first meet.
- Share your plan (who/where/when) and the person's profile with a trusted friend.
- Arrange your own ride both ways; avoid letting them pick you up at home.
- Keep valuables minimal; charge your phone and keep it accessible.
- Set boundaries in your mind before you go (physical intimacy, alcohol limits, time you'll leave).
During the Date
- Keep drinks/food in sight; if you step away, order a fresh one.
- Listen to your instincts—you can leave at any time.
- If someone ignores boundaries or pressures you, end the date and go somewhere safe.
After the Date
- Check in with the friend you informed.
- If something felt off, block and report. You don't owe anyone continued contact.
Protecting Your Account
- Use a unique password and enable 2FA.
- Log out of shared devices; don't reveal verification codes.
- Beware of fake "support" accounts asking for passwords or payments.
Community Standards (Quick Reminders)
- No hate, harassment, threats, or doxxing.
- No minors in any photos or content.
- No AI-generated faces/deepfakes or stolen images.
- No solicitation of money or commercial sex.
- Consent matters—always.
How to Report & Get Help
- In-app: Open the profile or chat → Report/Block → choose the reason and submit details/screenshots.
- Emergency: If you feel in danger, contact local authorities immediately. Look up your local emergency number (e.g., 911 in the US, 112/999 in many other countries).
We review reports promptly and may warn, suspend, or ban accounts that violate our rules. Severe or repeated violations lead to permanent removal.
If Something Feels Wrong
- It's okay to unmatch, block, and leave—no explanation needed.
- You won't be penalized for reporting in good faith.
- If you need support after a difficult interaction, consider reaching out to a trusted friend, counselor, or local support service.
